The installation, made of mostly man-made material, resembles an altar, a water shrine or a collection of something very special. The spring serves for rest and contemplation, inviting travellers to simply stay by it for a while.

The sculpture installation in the tree hollows focuses on the connection between man and nature and on man’s role in the natural cycle. The installation works with the phenomenon of pareidolia, in which the human brain imaginatively shapes the forms it registers.

A sequence of sound installations composed from the authentic sounds of local bells transforms churches and bell towers into places of relaxation and recharging.
Oto Hudec (SK): LONG LONG ROAD

The installation highlights the friction points that emerge at strategic border crossings between areas of relative prosperity in the west and the migratory flow coming from the south. The artist creates fragile figures made of cotton and wood, and films their journey across deserts, seas and the physical anti-migration barriers.

Visual artists Daniela Krajčová and Oto Hudec have been mapping the environment in Roma communities across Slovakia for several years and they have been running multi-day workshops focused on non-traditional animation techniques for Roma children from these communities. These short animated films are the result of a workshop with children from the Roma community in Bátovce.

David Demjanovič (SK): EAU THE SPACE

The installation of a laboratory-made fragrance designed for astronaut training permeats the the chapel’s space parleying the contrast between the spiritual and the secular, the Christian theory of the origin of the world and the Big Bang theory, as well as the significance of fragrances used in ceremonies to evoke a spiritual atmosphere. Symbolically, it also adds to the perception of the starry sky during the three-day pilgrimage.

(Space installation)
The 365 installation thematizes humility in its various forms. It uses identical objects arranged in space in geometrically precise lines, but always in different relationships and constellations.

The visual-musical-motoric essay in audiovisual language develops the notion of “crescendo” as a gradual increase, layering, rising, expanding towards a climax multiplied in one abstract feeling that cannot be specified in a narrative.

The installation explores the importance of dead wood for living organisms. The natural structure of tree bark comes alive under the rays of light. The installation takes place in a forest, as well as in an interior that evokes a forest.
